Springfield Road, Grantham - 'Housing with Extra Care'
We are pleased to announce the development of Springfield Road, Grantham.
Working in partnership with South Kesteven District Council and Funded by the Housing Corporation (2.9 million), Springfield Road will be particularly relevant to those who require more specialised amenities and greater support than is usually available in retirement accommodation. Springfield Road will be for older people who still value independent living but want additional security and support.
To be completed June 2010, Springfield Road will comprise of 48 two bedroom self contained flats with the support of a wide range of communal facilities.
Built to a high design specification, each flat will provide tenants with wheelchair accessibility, level access shower, wash hand basin and W.C, two bedrooms accommodating double and single beds, fully fitted kitchen including oven and hob, 24 hour alarm call system and access to cable television and the internet.
Communal facilities include a hair salon, laundrette, assited bathrooms, restaurant, lounge, seating areas, coffee bar and mobility scooter storage. Office space is provided for a 24 hour care team responding to the assessed care needs of each tenant.
A Scheme Manager will be available to assist tenants, address emergencies, encourage social activities, report and monitor repairs and maintenance work and ensure that the accommodation and services remain at the highest possible standard.
We are committed to ensure that Springfield Road will provide a Quality of Care and high standard of accomodation. In order to achieve this, we will be recruiting staff. An open evening to hear of opportunities will be held within Grantham during March 2010. Further details to be announced in the local press.

Rewarded for Excellence
Over 300 attended the annual East Midlands LABC Excellence Awards Ceremony at the Village Hotel in Nottingham on the 12th June. Shortlisted within the final 5, Worth Court, the Associations new 'Housing with Extra Care' development situated in the town of Bourne, was 'Highly Commended' and secured second place. The award was received by Nick Chambers, Chief Executive at LACE Housing and Mandy Gee, Housing Manager at South Kesteven District Council.
Following the event, Nick stated: 'We are extremely proud in achieving this award. The redevelopment of Worth Court has been a tremendous success. Working in Partnership with South Kesteven District Council and with the financial support of the Homes and Communities Agency, we have replaced an unpopular building with modern, spacious, and energy efficient accommodation offering older people an improved quality of life and standard of living. Our thanks go to officers at South Kesteven District Council for nominating the Association for this award within the 'Best Healthcare Building' category.
